Day T-5 ... On The Road Again
|

With four weeks of physical therapy behind us - my wrist and Janet's piriformis muscle - we're all repaired and ready to go again. It's been 22 months since we first booked this trip and few days have passed that we haven't given it more than a little thought. I can honestly say I've never been more excited about an adventure than this one and I think that goes for Janet as well.
Today will be a long one. We first fly from Medford to Salt Lake City and then onto DeGaulle where we have a seven hour layover. Depending upon how we feel, we just might venture into Paris for lunch. We finally reach Istanbul nearing midnight Tuesday. Wednesday is a day of adjustment - time zones, new geography, culture - so this is probably the last update until the end of this week.

Just a couple of shots as we hit the road. Queue up Willie Nelson.
So the trip was long but not killer. At 11:30 PM it turns out you get in to Istanbul in 40 minutes rather than two to three hours. We we were so stoked at 1 AM that we enjoyed a bottle of wine enjoying the view below of the Bridge That Joins Two Continents.
