Day 46 - St. Petersberg, Russia
The two most anticipated cities on our trip were Istanbul at the front end and then St. Petersberg nearing the back end. Neither disappointed. The only problem in St. Peterberg were that the antibiotics I 'd begun a few days earlier hadn't yet kicked in - and I should have been arrested for exposing the others on our bus. This was a two day tour and our only concession to health was passing on the ballet this first evening.
The pictures below are taken (at least mostly) at Catherine's Palace - which is exactly what a fairy princess would build given zero budget restrictions. The palace does not show its true outer brilliance because of the sun angle. Sorry. A traditional Russian lunch followed with free flowing vodka and wine. It was a lot of fun.
