Day 7 - Kotor, Montenegro
Every trip contains at least one hidden gem and we found that today. I'd been so anxious for tomorrow and seeing Dubrovnik that I had pretty much overlooked today's stop in Kotor. Like Dubrovnik it is a walled city, but it is smaller, more navigable, and reputedly less commercial - but that comparison will need to wait for tomorrow. In addition to being a charming medieval town dating back a millennium BC, it is also an awesome trip into Kotor because you meander up Europe's southern most fjord to get there. All and all - a great stop.
The first five photos record the trip down the fjord, the sixth a look up the cliff, and then two photos of Sveti Stefan. This is one of many "playgrounds of the rich and famous". There are 43 units on the island which run from 800 to 3600 euros per person per night. Well of course breakfast is included. The roll call begins with folks like Elizabeth Taylor and Sofia Loren. The bottom four shots are of inside the walls.
