Day 35 - Bergen, Norway
The top two rows are photos from our balcony of Bergen while the bottom row includes Kari - Janet's fourth's cousins wife - from Janet's grandmother's home village of Vik I Sogn. Kari traveled the 2-3 hours from Vik to meet us in Bergen.
We first met Kari on our first visit to Vik in 1998 - a result of the conversations that Janet began with Carl three years earlier. On that trip we were guests at her fifth grade class. We had a delightful time and established some younger relationships which will be extolled upon in tomorrow's episode. We've now visited Kari on several occasions and she's come to Minnesota to visit us once as well.

The photos below are taken at the top of the Funicular - about 200 feet above Bergen. This is one of the world's most beautiful cities and - like its sister city, Seattle - is breathtaking a a clear day ... and that's exactly what we had on this arrival day.
