Day 32 - London, England
Our morning tour was around London proper and included a distant glimpse at the Changing of the Guard, Big Ben at precisely noon, and some views of the London Eye. The high noon visit and the viewing of the guard were both compliments of highly delayed morning calendar. It took a couple of hours longer to secure our spot on the Thames than expected. It was greeat fun sailing an uncommonly large vessel up the Thames and into London - but it proved a bit unwieldy so I'm uncertain whether this will be done in the future.
The afternoon featured a walking tour of Greenwich which was especially interesting - and included the Royal Observatory ... Greenwich Mean Time. Please note "western hemisphere" wife and "eastern hemisphere" husband.
Finally here are some night views from our balcony of London. We've been in London a number of times over the years but this is a city that continues to morph. At the turn of the century (2000) London would not have been noted as one of the world's more interesting skylines. High rises were considered unsuitable due to the terrain. That's changing as can be seen in many of these photos - both above and below.
